According to the calendar Spring officially begins March 20th, but based on this years weather the exact season is difficult to pinpoint. Traditionally, Spring is transitional season that brings us out of the cold winter months with milder days, patches of rain, and blooming of plants that have been dormant all Winter.
Last weekend I was out in Los Angeles for LA Fashion Week and the vibe was amazing. While I was out there of course I had to explore downtown Los Angeles and take in the scenery.
One thing I know about New York City is if you want to stand out, you have to be bold. For the third year in a row I attended New York Fashion Week, and this was definitely my boldest and most productive trip.
I began modeling back in 2014 and since then I have been in quite a few different types of fashion shows. One of my favorite types of fashion shows are bridal shows. Unlike other fashion shows, in a bridal show I know I will be wearing a tuxedo or suit and that fits very will with my brand.
The new year is officially here, but unlike many people I don't have any new year's resolutions. For me January 1, 2018 was just another Monday. Now, that's not to say I'm not motivated and I don't have any goals I am striving for. What I am saying is I am no more motivated to reach my goals on January 1, 2018 than I was on December 25, 2017.
With colder weather comes the need to add boots to your wardrobe. The boot allows you to add warmer footwear options while still remaining dapper. One of my new favorite boots in my collection is the Chelsea Boot by MS Shoe Designs.
I am often asked, how do you maintain the dapper look in the warmer months? My answer is, as the temperature changes and gets warmer, your fabrics should change as well. The most common warm weather fabrics for gentlemen are cotton, seersucker, linen and chambray. Each of the fabrics are light weight, breathable, and come in a variety of colors. I've never been afraid to wear unique colors, so I love the options. Additionally, this is the time you want to loosen up that collar and lose the tie.
During a recent trip to San Diego California I was fortunate to link up with a talented photographer Ulysses Burden III. Like me he has an eye for fashion and he loves the California lifestyle. I left California back in 2013 and sense then I have missed the California beaches, night life and definitely the fashion.
The Tuxedo is not a common item, but one I feel every gentleman should have in their wardrobe. The midnight blue tuxedo provides a level of elegance that the black tuxedo can not. I also like the peak lapel option vice they shawl collar for its boldness. I feel the peak lapel is the most formal and eye catching.
The time for holiday parties and family gatherings is upon us, and what better way to own the room than with a red velvet blazer. The red velvet blazer is one of my favorites for this time of year because it has a look that says holidays. This week I am in downtown Newport News enjoying all things Christmas. Once again I am working with the extremely talented Charles Hundley of Raw Image Photography.
