With colder weather comes the need to add boots to your wardrobe. The boot allows you to add warmer footwear options while still remaining dapper. One of my new favorite boots in my collection is the Chelsea Boot by MS Shoe Designs.

I am often asked, how do you maintain the dapper look in the warmer months? My answer is, as the temperature changes and gets warmer, your fabrics should change as well. The most common warm weather fabrics for gentlemen are cotton, seersucker, linen and chambray. Each of the fabrics are light weight, breathable, and come in a variety of colors. I've never been afraid to wear unique colors, so I love the options. Additionally, this is the time you want to loosen up that collar and lose the tie.

This week I was able to work with the very talented photographer Dora Breaux. Dora has a great eye for fashion and we had an amazing photography session in downtown Virginia Beach.

This week's look features the lightweight fabrics cotton and linen. I wanted to also mix in some unique colors so I used light blue and brown as my base colors. The look was put together using one of my new sponsor's Upscale Men's Fashion. The cotton pants are Ralph Lauren, the linen shirt and blazer are both Inserch, and the suede shoes are Johnston and Murphy.

California Dreaming

During a recent trip to San Diego California I was fortunate to link up with a talented photographer Ulysses Burden III. Like me he has an eye for fashion and he loves the California lifestyle. I left California back in 2013 and sense then I have missed the California beaches, night life and definitely the fashion.

For this weeks look I wanted to bring out color, comfort and show off the California vibe. The panama hat is a definite summer must to spruce up your summer look and its convenient for blocking out the sun.  If you notice I'm not wearing a tie, sometimes you have to open up the neck for some ventilation. Finally, the loafers add a dress shoe that allows you to go sock less or in my case a loafer sock. Overall, the idea is to remain cool where you can with light fabrics and less accessories.

The hat I'm wearing is a panama hat I purchased in California, jacket and shirt are Tommy Hilfiger, pants are Ralph Lauren and shoes are Johnston and Murphy.

Into the Blue

The Tuxedo is not a common item, but one I feel every gentleman should have in their wardrobe. The midnight blue tuxedo provides a level of elegance that the black tuxedo can not. I also like the peak lapel option vice they shawl collar for its boldness. I feel the peak lapel is the most formal and eye catching.

I recently wore my blue tuxedo for the Black Men Rock Image Awards. I was awarded the best new male model of the year so I wanted to go very formal.  I decided to go really formal. I was joined by my photographer François Joseph and he helped capture the evenings experience.

The Tuxedo is by Cardi, the shirt is by Jos A. Bank, and the shoes are by Kenneth Cole.

In September of 2014, on one of my very first large modeling projects, I was introduced to Mario Daugherty and his Reckless Clothing line. Ever since that meeting I have kept in touch with Mario and I have wore his clothes in several different fashion shows.

Mario began the Reckless Clothing line back in 2008 and his clothes have been a staple in Hampton Roads ever since. He was inspired to begin his own line by the designers Ralph Lauren and Russell Simmons. Additionally, he finds inspiration for his clothing in everything around him. This week I once again teamed up with the photographer François Joseph and we pulled two looks from Mario's collection. Both looks are very casual for me, but comfortable none the less. The first look features a graphic v-neck t-shirt with shorts and a pair of suede oxfords from Johnston and Murphy to complete the look. The second look has a military green button up shirt, khakis and a pair of cognac brown Johnston and Murphy loafers to complete the look.

Reckless Clothing has a wide range of looks in its collection that will fit most guy's style. You can purchase Reckless at Risk Contour located at 211 Providence Rd in Chesapeake, VA. You can see the Reckless Clothing line on the runway at the Prevent Cancer Awareness Fashion Show July 17th, Beauty of the Heart Fashion Show July 30th, and Virginia Full Figured Fashion Week in October.
